Everyone needs light in their lives. For this time of year, the focus is being a light to others and giving and sharing the light to all those who seek it and need it in their lives. This mission is not treated lightly by Apostolic Global Church as they made time and effort to have a lasting, positive impact in the local community through various outreaches.
The center of Pensacola was set aglow from one of those outreaches: the Glowtown Christmas Concert on December 16th at the Apostolic Global Church. The concert had inspiring music from the Apostolic Global Church Choir (combined with the Church youth and children’s choirs) as well as duets, solos, and instrumental specials. The melodies of traditional Christmas songs (filled with both familiar sounds and fresh new twists) and other inspirational tunes brought light to all who attended and encouraged all people in this season. Admission was free and the public was welcomed to be a part of this uplifting musical experience.
The students of a local Title 1 middle school had the opportunity to get a taste of that musical experience on December 20th. Apostolic Global Church blessed the 1,000+ students of this school with brand new backpacks at the beginning of the school year, each filled with notebooks, pencils, and other necessary supplies.
This December, the ministry team blessed the school once again. This time, they imparted songs and words of kindness and joy to the students as well as a second set of backpacks. However, these backpacks came with an additional surprise: individually-wrapped Christmas presents! This opportunity opened a door that some families would not have been able to open on their own. Without this outreach, according to the principal of the middle school, some of these families would have never seen a Christmas this year.
Not only were the children blessed, but the local military was blessed as well. There are men and women who serve at the Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola base who might not have had a chance to see their families out of town for Christmas and may not have known what to do for the holidays this year. As a form of outreach, free transportation was provided to and from the Glowtown Christmas Concert, where our local military took part in this occasion of joy and comfort in a family atmosphere.
Speaking of families, the Church had an awesome time reaching out to various families in Palafox Market amid the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. People received tickets of invitation to the Glowtown Christmas Concert for December 16th and were welcomed to bring their whole families. There were families who did not know what to do for their kids this season and were very happy to be invited to the concert event.
Another unique invitation was given to the people of Pensacola. The Church gathered at the Graffiti Bridge to paint a visual invitation for the Glowtown Christmas Concert on December 16th. The images of cheer and hope and the words of encouragement and strength could be seen from all sides of the bridge.
Building and strengthening a bridge of love and hope to impact our community in a mighty way has been the focus of the outreaches of Doctor Christian and Doctor Robin Harfouche, R.E.A.C.H., and the Apostolic Global Church. As we cross over from this season into the new year, we will carry the light of love, peace, and joy, the same light that the Church shared with the Pensacola community during this season.
